Could a hacker switch the default back to the built-in mic?Updated 9 months ago

Mic-Lock serves as a hardware solution to audio hacking. Fortunately, this means a hacker would not be capable of overriding the Mic-Lock. Mic-Lock is only disabled when it is removed from your device physically.

Be sure to disable any Voice Assistant functions your device may have through the Settings app. This will provide another layer of privacy and prevent Mic-Lock from being overridden by the operating system.

  1. Is it possible for a hacker to bypass the Mic-Lock and reactivate the phone's internal microphone remotely?
  2. Could a cyber attacker reconfigure a device's settings to override the Mic-Lock's function and utilize the built-in mic instead?
  3. Is there a risk that malware could manipulate system preferences to switch audio input from the Mic-Lock back to the smartphone's original microphone?
