My Windows PC has a 3.5mm mic jack and another mic next to the webcam. Will Mic-Lock disable all mics?Updated 9 months ago

Mic-Lock disables audio input to the device.

If it's an internal mic on the Windows PC, just plug in Mic-Lock into your 3.5mm jack and it will functions as an active mic but no audio input signal will be allowed.

Any computer can only have one active audio source.

The Mic-Lock is an audio source that sends silence over the audio when active.



  1. If I insert Mic-Lock into the 3.5mm jack of my laptop, will it also block the built-in microphone near the webcam on my Windows computer?
  2. Can using a Mic-Lock in the audio jack of my desktop PC ensure that the digital microphone integrated into my monitor is also disabled?
  3. Will a Mic-Lock plugged into the headphone/microphone combo port on my Windows laptop effectively silence both that jack and any internal mics?
  4. If I use a Mic-Lock with my Windows PC that has multiple microphone inputs, can it prevent audio capture from all sources, including USB microphones?
