Will a dummy headset or old pair of clipped headphones do the same thing as Mic-Lock?Updated 9 months ago

Mic-Lock VS Clipped Earbuds

A dummy headset or old pair of clipped headphones will not serve the same function as a Mic-Lock.

This is a false belief and does not work. All modern personal communication devices will not see a dummy headset or clipped headphones as a valid audio source. Valid audio sources require a live electrical signal.

The seamless audio switch between internal and external audio is managed by the device's digital mix master. This is what assigns the audio.

Plugging a object that does not have an electrical signal into the audio input will make no difference.

Mic-Lock is the only microphone blocker on the market that has a semiconductor inside the housing that actually takes over the microphone and transmits the sound of silence.

  1. Can I achieve similar microphone blocking effects by using a severed headphone cable, much like how Mic-Lock functions?
  2. Is it possible to replicate the privacy features of Mic-Lock by plugging in a non-functional headset into my device?
  3. Would an old pair of headphones, with the earbuds cut off, serve the same purpose as a Mic-Lock in disabling the microphone?
